I was born in England and lived there until the age of six.  My father was anmom international official and we returned to visit England and our English family regularly.  The countryside, towns, and villages of England hold a special meaning for me.  I think this has influenced my connection to the villages of Maine and my choice of subject matter, which often includes buildings and their surroundings.

I attended Mary Washington College, which was then part of the University of Virginia.  I majored in art history and also took many studio art classes.  Before college, I enjoyed drawing picturesrealistic subject matter in pencil and pen and ink.  Printmaking was my favorite medium in college.  I was also interested in children's book illustration.  After graduation I pursued this goal publishing several books locally.

I taught drawing at adult school and after school enrichment classes for elementary school children.  Although I never intended to be a teacher, I found it an occupation I enjoyed.  I have been teaching elementary art for fourteen years now.
I have a Masters in Fine Arts Education degree from Kean University.  I am currently working primarily in water color and acrylic.
